ABOUT CERISE

Cerise Zelenetz is a Vermont born, Paris trained, New York based artist, writer and illustrator whose studies in France have informed her whimsical, artistic style and eye for observation. She graduated from Parsons School of Design with a BFA in 2014. Since then, she has participated in group and solo shows for her paintings and drawings across New York and Europe, as well as completed two art residencies in Spain and Italy respectively. She now focuses on her text based illustration practice and has worked with publications including The New Yorker, The Paris Review, MoMA’s online magazine, and Conde Nast Traveler China among others. She has also created custom illustrations and branding for Nike, Araks, Ernesto’s, Swick Wines, Anomaly, Oddfellows Ice Cream, Bemmelman’s Bar, and The Line Hotel to name a few. In 2021, she designed and opened a wine bar in Bushwick, Brooklyn called Cherry On Top that has garnered enthusiastic press from The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Eater and The Infatuation.
